“And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” – Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV)
One morning, as I was cooking, the Lord impressed upon my heart that I should cook it His way. I stood at the stove, struggling between obeying what I clearly heard in my spirit and doing it my way.
Believers, our heavenly Father promised to never leave us or forsake us, which means He’s present in everything. We may believe He is concerned only with the big things, but that is far from the truth. Jesus expects us to rely on Him for every aspect of our lives – our lives are hidden with Christ in God. Therefore, whether it is scrubbing a floor, teaching, building a wharf, or fixing a stove, He is right there giving direction when least expected. But are you listening?
I finished cooking my stew that morning, following God’s direction, in less time than I ever did! I was amazed, and most of all, I learnt something new. This experience was phenomenal, and I give all praise and glory to God.
Our all-sufficient, all-knowing, loving Father is speaking into our lives daily. Why don’t you keep your ears tuned to His voice?
Prayer
Dear Father, I repent for the times I felt I could do it on my own and did not heed Your voice. Thank You for forgiving me. Your direction is always better. Help me to obey Your voice daily. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
